Hello everyone! I'm new to the Mantidforum but my love for mantises really began in fourth grade when my mom found a Chinese mantis on her car and said I could keep it. I've pretty much always really liked insects and the amount of books and bug zoos I have for insects is probably in the hundreds by now. Entomology is one of my very many hobbies, although I'm sort of new to the science. My favorite orders of insects are currently Mantodea and Hymenoptera, and although I've gone through Lepidoptera a little bit and have found it very fascinating, the sheer number of Dipterans and Coleopterans may overrun that as I find out more about flies and beetles. To me mantises are very special because they are just so intelligent and can pretty much eat prey three times as big as they are, with incredibly fast reaction speed, strong mandibles, and the famed raptorial legs. Since I want to learn more about insects and especially mantises, I would appreciate it if anyone could give me some information on specific species and insect behavior. Also, since I am new at caring for mantises, any tips on caring for them would be great.
