this is for all my fellow heathens!! anyone else have people over and such for xmas eve or day without actually celebrating the religious part of the holiday?? i think the holiday is a bit overrated because i basically spend money on stuff people could buy themselves while others spend their money on stuff for me i could just buy myself and it turns into a "i must recieve more than i give to profit from this" type of thing, but it is what it is!

happy holidays to all! i'm watchin creo males molt while drinking and waiting for problematic relatives to show up!

I don't celebrate the religious aspect of the season, but do enjoy the spirit of giving and love that the season tends to spread. The materialistic side is out of control, for sure. I didn't do gifts except cookies for years, but now I like to buy thoughtful small items that the few people I'd buy for will actually use. Then they will think of me and how I appreciate them every time they use the gift.

We don't really have a family, outside me and my husband (and pets!), so I think it takes a bit of the excitement out of the whole gift exchange and family Christmas celebration.

It's not drinking alone if your mantids are there, amiright?

I don't like receiving presents, but it's fun to shop for the nieces and nephs. 😀

Since I buy the things I need or want throughout the year, all someone can give me is something I neither need or want, but I still appreciate the sentiment. The gifts will look great on my yard sale table this spring. 😀
