Moulting?

Orchid male upside down on ceiling. one leg in mid air floating. hasnt eaten yet and doesnt look like it's hungry. been misting once a day or 2wice a day when i get bored. well. thx!

Misting it once a day is enough. If there is too much humidity, it may not dry properly. Try to push the leg gently onto the ceiling. There is less chance of complication if all its legs are hanging on the ceiling.

If it needs the leg up it will put it there. Worst thing you can do to a mantis about to molt is mess with it. Just leave it alone and don't worry. Sometimes mantids hold a leg up.

My ant mantid which I think is going to molt soon also put one leg up. Don't know why. When I put her leg down she stayed like that. She didn't put her leg up anymore. Probably going to molt tonight.

Yep. Moulted last night. Now much bigger. Looks beautiful.

i noticed this:

if someone has just 1 mantis going to moult, they worry like heck. when having alot, they don't even notice untill it moulted.

I remember my first mantid. I used to check on it every 30 min.
