It's not a monkey (tailless), its a Barbary Macaque, or Rock Ape. Most of the population is in the Atlas Mountains of Northern Africa, but a small group of about 400-500 live on the Rock of Gibraltar, noone really knows how they got there.

Spectacular photos of one of my top 5 most-desired places to go! My parents made a trip through that area once and down into Morocco. My dad entertained a crowd at a restaurant when the belly dancer invited him to participate. Later he paid for my mother to go on a "camel ride". The camel owner had the camel kneel down so my mother could get on it. The camel stood up. The owner led the camel and my mother around in a very small circle and then demanded more money from my dad to let her off the camel. The absurdity of the story was well worth the additional fee and seems to illustrate a part of the culture where throngs of folks are just waiting for the next tourist to get off the ferry.

One of my favorite books is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, set in this region.

Wow, scratches on a Ferrari!

But did you see any bugs?

Not many Peter, we were chock full of activites so no real time to hunt. In Marbella i did indulge myself at low tide though, catching and admiring crabs, sea urchins, sea anemonies, and a giant sea cucumber!

Yea that Ferrari was in less than ideal shapre, but being a car fan, snapped a few of it anyways.

Thanks for the kind words. Gibraltar was insane, such a fantastic and unique place, literally in all aspects!
