I woke up and cheked my mantids............... i saw that one mantis her back was ripped, also she,s missingone leg and and half leg, she was bleeding on diffrent places,,, i asked my mom what happend... my cat(a big, black, fat, mean, and destructive monster) has killed her, wel almost killed.

i,m so angry now that if i see the monster i trow it in the water :angry: . i never hear something like from you guys..... why al this is happening to me

when you reading this the 3rd cute, small, green, friendly little mantis is going to die

hey..its not your cats fault so dont throw her in the water..lol..it was your fault for letting the cat near the mantid.how did the cat get it if they where in tanks and cups?Iv only ever had a mantid with 3 legs..if the guy looks ok and isnt in pain then look after him,if theres no coming back and he looks real bad better of freezing him?

Most of us keep them safe in a cage/terrarium and just sometimes let them free... you shouldn't let them walk freely in your room unsupervised :/ Sad things can happen then (like now, with your cat). It's not your cat's fault, they just want to play/hunt

my cat dont do that..shes a real softy..i have my giant asian female free in my bedroom..i only do this tho cause i know my cat and she woulnt harm a fly..soon as i buy some more cages tho this week il house her in there.

We have two cats and one will eat anything, including mantids. The other doesn't even care if they're walking across the floor.

i know its obvious but u should start to house them in tanks if your cat cant be trusted..like rick i have 2 cats 1 will kill any thing that moves.i feel sad for field voles..Tomas keeps on playing with them..Then after about 1 hour playing with it he eats it..very crule.hes been brought up as a kitten but has alot of wild instinct in him/.all tho i had him done so he cant breed he will still go off all day hunting things.My dad feeds him prawns hes spoiled but he still eats birds,voles and once he had a rat..Gross

if i thought tomas was going to go in my room i would get a cage right away/but he sleeps downstairs so its ok..theres always a, chance he will go in my bedroom tho thats why im going to put her in a tank in next few days..need to go get some more sweetie jars..if u want your mantid to rome free u should think about mayby getting a cage like the one yen houses his idols in..nice and big..and safe from your cat..

the problen is that i just have ONE cage i use for moultingsand asians are not like idolo,s THEY eat each other, so i cant house them all in the same cage
