Handicapped mantids are still great pets. As a friend said, they have tremendous souls. Dont put her down.
Sticky. I have no plans at the moment of putting her down. That would be a last resort. She is sitting beside me now. Just finished feeding her flower power to help her gain her strengh. I have a fucha girl that did that about a month ago. She is still alive and seems very happy. She even tried to eat my finger the other day when feeding her lol! Shes my girl. She watches tv with me most nights. I think people are to fast at putting these guys down..They don't want the hassel of having to deal with hand feeding. I don't feel that way at all...I'm glad there are others out there that feel the same!

Although I have to ask what is the "flower power" you are feeding her? You mentioned it twice now and I am lost as to what it could be. As the kind of flower power I know of is not any food and is simply a word that stands for non-violence and used by hippies.

Idologirl, would you like a blanket for her? Its more like a bed, but I make them from my yarns that are soft and natural. No dyes. Devetaki9 loves the ones I gave her. I have some pics somewhere. I will find them if you would like to see.

CosbyArt. Flower power is an organic mantis dietary suppliment that I give my mantis. It has bee pollen and honey that supposedy extends the life of your mantis. They love it!! I get it from mantis pets... Sometimes I dust my flies with it before giving it to the mantis as well..Sounds like she is in good hands then and I wish you both the best.

I also feed it to my flies along with the same organic fly food from mantis pets. My flies last a lot longer and are also healthy...

I love making them, and they work well. I love using them. The mantis can grab hold of it much easier than paper. Its softer too.

I am trying to post a pic of the female..I keep sizing it down cause they say it's to big but it's not! Any way when I got the pair as nymphs they told me is was
Hierodula membranacea. They are around 3 inches long...Ferocious mantis! I have probably about a 100 babies now..lol. I'm selling them for $3.00 a pc plus shipping costs. Your choice if you want priority or express. Oh and the hot pack will be 2.00 I only use 72 hour ones just in case they are delayed by the post office...I'll sell after they're first molt...They're so cute!!!
