I'm not sure what species they were, but they were cute.

Until my sister in law salted them T_T

I take it your sister in law does not like slugs much! I remember when i was a kid we used to have slug races. The excitment was emense!

Nice slugs. Rick, you are so right. My turtles are so speedy it's hard to keep up with them  , Well it's not that hard.

Anyway, has anyone ever had the experience where they are laying in grass, and they feel a slug on your hand? I instantly thought a bird pooped on me or I laid my hand in dog ######.

I don't wanna know what a turtle eating a slug looks like.

Aughhh.

They were so cool, Chill is the one in the first pic, being all attentive and whatnot.

Haha, anyone enjoy salting them?

I've done it twice...I felt so bad, but oh so good at the same time. Slugs scare me. Every time I lay in grass and feel one, it feels like I laid my hand in old, cold dog ######.

Haha, I'm sorry to hear that.

I did it when I was in third grade. It was a small little one. Do they just eat grass...?

Yeah, pretty much.Plants.

That's why people don't want them in their gardens and stuff.
Yep. Which is why every spring I wage war on them. THey eat my garden. They don't touch it later in the year though. I catch thousands of them in beer traps.

Can you explain these "beer traps"?
Just take a plastic container and cut the bottom three inches off. A container the diameter of a 32 oz insect cup works. Bury this flush with the ground. Add a couple inches of beer. The slugs are attracted to the beer and can't get back out.
