Need Help

I walked into my room just a little bit ago and when I checked on my mantis he was on the floor of his cage.Both of his legs are broken on one side.Well they're still attached so crippled you could say. But I don’t know how it happened but the only evidence I saw was the molting of him. I think he might of had a problem molting and broke them. I heard that they can regenerate them when they’re young but when they develop into an adult adult they lose this ability. He has already began to grow his wings so I believe he is turning into an adult or is already. I believe this is his second molting since I had him. What should I do? Please answer ASAP, Thanks in advanced.

Thanks for the quick response and no he's not in a fettle position like the one featured in the video. However he can't support his weight, he's abdomen is on the ground, since he broke both of the his legs on one side. He's just been crawling around with his arms and other two legs. Is there a chance that there could be a full recovery? I can't see him like that. I mean the legs are still attached there just bent you could say but yet they're classified as broken. Well thanks for the advice.I appreciate it

well if the mantis is indeed adult there will be no problem becouse there are no comming molts,if it has a molt to go then it will be hard.

you can handfeed it. he/she is fine as she gets food and water for the recovery: only time will tell i,m afraid..

as the bent legs are two of the back four and not any of the front ones then it will still be able to catch food in theory. however, if it can't support its own weight and is dragging its abdomen, that's not really a great state to be in. you might want to consider putting it out of its misery, but thats completely your call. as it is adult there is no chance of a recovery, once the body hardens after moulting it will stay in that position until the next moult, but as it is adult, there will be no further moults so it will be in this condition until it dies.

I heard that they can regenerate them when they’re young but when they develop into an adult adult they lose this ability.

In future reference: In my experience it takes two molts for a mantis to completely grow back.

Our Mr Blue is right, I have kept them in this condition, but the feeding will all be up to you, It is hard to say if it is hurting, but after he hardens, maybe he will do better, I doubt it though.

It is a bug, so it doesn't really feel pain...however, it is pathetic to see it limp around like that. The choice is up to you.

I don't think I'm going to use euthanasia to solve his injury. I've been watching him walk around and to my surprise he seems fine, even though he can't walk as properly as he did before. He can still catch food. So I've decided to just "baby" him. His abdomen is coming off the ground a little bit so thats good. Hopefully he'll be fine.Thank you guys for all your help and support, I really appreciate it.
