Hi,

I need ID of one of my species. I bought an ooth as "Sphodromantis aurea". Now I have 4 females and 2 males adult. And in other section people sais that they aren't S. aurea! So now I try to find out what is that species.

They are quite big. Females are like 8-9 cm long, males 7.5-8 cm long. They have 3 white spots on coxa. Two white spots on wings.

Some photos:

Any idea what they could be?

I think i may have the same exact species? I was sent 5 from Frey back in December. I was told they were either a Sphodromantis sp. Or Alalomantis? She did not know? I have 4 females, and one male. All just molted to adult in the past few weeks. These guys grew very slowly. Were the nymphs black at L1? I will post some pics later for comparison.

Doesn't aurea have black spots on the inside of the raptorial femur?

We covered it here. I think its deffiniately a Sphrodomantis viridis. Every part of yours looks just like mine and other S.viridis i've seen.
