Are you tired of having to rush for Mantis food when your fruit fly cultures expire? Do you want to have frog food readily available when YOU need it?

We have two primary choices for the Mantis community. You can try our Confused Flour Beetle cultures, cultured in SPF's Small Beetle media, comprised of about 5-10 different flours and multiple natural color enhancers with essential nutrients to raise the healthiest feeder possible. Or you may try our easy to use Bean Beetle cultures, which culture easily when you combine this culture with an ordinary bag of black-eyed peas!

Confused Flour Beetles are easy to use, and both the larvae and beetles are easy to separate from their dusty media with the use of a flour sifter and both are fantastic to feed off to your pets! To create a proper breeding container for your beetles, simply take your 8 oz Confused Flour Beetle culture, and a pound of either SPF's Small Beetle media or with normal flour will also work, and combine them in a larger container. This container will now breed numerous amounts of Confused Flour Beetles for months! And when the media starts looking a little dingy, simply put a scoop of the old culture in a container of new media, and it begins all over again.

Bean Beetles are little different in how they procreate. These small insects, about 1/3 of the size of an eraser head, actually lay their eggs on the black-eyed peas. After a short incubation period, the eggs hatch, and the larvae bore into the pea as they feed, emerging as a beetle when they're ready. When the beetles are ready again, they lay their eggs, die, and the cycle begins all over again, and the best part is there is no work involved. When you want to feed some off, simply tap the lid a few times to knock off any beetles on the lid, open the cup, and flick or scoop out with your finger the ones that you want to feed, and seal back up the culture.

It's that easy! You of course have the option of dusting these beetles with powdered nutrients, vitamins, or superfoods, all of which we have available on our SECURE WEBSITE at https://www.smallpetfeeders.com.

In case you were wondering, Confused Flour Beetles are named so due to their latin name (Tribolium confusum), not because they are actually confused about anything ;-)

If you'd like to get started with this feeder, and other nutrients including Repashy and Dinofuel, you can reach us at [email protected], or give us a call at the office at 770-642-9139. Thank you!

*Please note* - We ship these responsibly in plastic cups sealed tightly with multiple layers of packing tape to avoid any accidental release of the insects. We ask that you also treat these responsibly, as allowing them to breed wildly through your residence by letting them to escape your pet's habitat can endanger yours and your neighbor's food stocks, and while this is mainly pertaining to the Bean Beetle cultures as Confused Flour beetles can't climb plastic and are easily contained with the use of a upturned lid, we want to make you aware of this.
