Hey,

my name is Simon but everyone call me Fichte. I am from Austria, thats the reason for my bad english ;)

I work as a gardener and tree-keeper and in the snowy winter i drive the snowplow

I breed a few mantids, phasmids, roaches, spiders and plants.

I prefer small mantids like my Sibylla dolosa and Oxyopsis gracilis... and i am looking (at the moment) for Acanthops sp., Hestiasula bruneriana (or other boxing-mantis) and Odontomantis sp.

best regards Fichte

Hello Fichte,

And welcome to the forum. I'm also raising and enjoying Oxyopsis gracilis. Someday I would like to raise Acanthops sp, too.

We usually have a lot of snow in the winter here in Minnesota, but it's been a strange winter. It was in the low 50's last weekend, and there are only traces of snow on the ground. I'm sure the snowplow drivers are not happy, but I'm sure we'll get more snow in January and February.

Welcome to you Fichte! My maternal grandmother was also from Austria before world war I. What good cooking skills she brought with her many recipes from that land. What kind of plants to you raise. I am also into ornamental horticulture besides mantids and now some roaches.

Hey,

hmm Austrian-cooking... for a vegetarian like me it is not the thing ;)

I raise many plants in the ethnobotanic/psycoactive category... i prefer plants from the mazatheks (Oaxaca, Mexico) like diverent Salvia divinorum and so on.

But i only raise for the eye and for science... not to use :innocent:

best regards and thanks
