Hi everyone!
I joined the other day when I ordered my first Mantis pet. It arrived last night - a Sphodromantis Blue Flash. So exciting - I always played with mantises in the yard as a kid. Anyhow.. it looked fine, was thirsty. The flies that were shipped with it seem a tad big. It tried to catch one a few times but it was a little bigger than it's abdomen sized (they don't look like fruit flies, they have wings, but don't fly and look like tiny housefiles.).
So.. I hunted down a smaller fly, couldn't sleep till I knew it had something to eat. That went well.
Today.. trying to find some fruit flies. I put my mantis / with the small ship cup inside a too large enclosure till I made a medium sized one. And it is hanging off the tiny cup MOLTING! I am so worried, was not expecting this so soon! I think it will be fine, it is almost to
the end, It's only been an hour so I don't dare even breathe too close to it's container.
I emailed the supplier because I am wondering if this is too soon? It was supposed to be an L2, does this make it an L3 already? I thought this only happened every few weeks. I tend to worry too much!
Ok, wish us luck!!
