20/4/2013:

Mesopteryx alata nymphs: Just a view of the bin that Ester's first ooth hatched in. there's quite a few nymphs along the top, not so many in the foliage

Taumantis sigiana first ooth: Claire laid her first ooth today. She's been mated so lets hope its good. I took this video mainly because of how shocked I was at the size.

Hierodula membranacea mating: Probably the easiest mating I've ever had, and its caught on tape too. A good demo of a proven method of breeding. Pardon the background noise.

Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoy.

Odd jumble of numbers on your post, Mike. I think you mean: 4/27/2013.

Those strange Canadians. Almost as mixed up as the French. Eh?

Wow, that was quite an ooth by Claire. Like Sally said about the last video, I'd be worried they'd get away too! So fast and so tiny...

And this was the first time I've ever heard anyone say "Hierodula membranacea"... now I have confirmation that I've been saying it completely wrong! :D

Let it be known theres absolutely no proof I'm saying it right.

Well, at least the people that hear me say it have no idea if it's correct or not! :D

Cool link to the wind and mantis-husbandry article... I had no idea that wind could be that helpful in mating!
