newbie can't decide, please check it out

I want a preying mantis, or some form of mantis. What would you recomend? I would like to keep it in a critter keeper, but I have a empty 20 I could also use. I live in WA, so the lowest temp is about 55 in winter and 85 in summer averaging about 65-70(these are all house temps). I would like to not have to heat the tank, but will slightly during winter if I have to. I also want one that I don't have to ship away for(I will buy eggs online). So a common one would be nice. Any advice that would fit most(doesn't have to be all)would be greatly appreciated

Sure. Gardening centers at hardware stores sell mantis eggs (called oothecae). They sell them for pest control and they're fairly easy to get. At Ace Hardware where I am, they sell two for $10.
