Hey guys,

I'm trying to breed my European mantis pair and he is very interested and will hop right on but they don't connect.. He seems to hold on pretty low but if I tap his abdomen to try to move him up he gets off and runs away. He's almost the same size as her.. Or is she possibly non receptive or something.. I know she must be releasing pheromones so he is attracted to her but I'm confused, if I try to help him he runs away. He is sorta old like over 2 months asan adult but he is still perfectly normal.. He's not sluggish and is a active eater so if you guys can let me know.. I've had her for about a week and she isn't huge or anything but she is kind of plump and very active.

Thanks,

Cole

I would just leave him be. Make sure she is well fed when you leave them alone though. But you can gently blow on him the next time he mounts to encourage him to mate...touching him just freaks the males out sometimes bc they think its the female trying to get them...

All the best,

Andrew
