Hey I am Nate. I have kept mantids several times in my life and it is just a hobby. Since having a baby, my wife has decided she doesn't want bugs in the house anymore and I now have a couple desk pets at work. Giant Asian Mantids. Thanks for letting me join and I look forward to discussion.

Well congrats on your child.
Sorry to hear about your desk pets, but I do know firsthand that most first-time mothers are highly overprotective and not to be reasoned with. By the 2nd child, or a year or two into raising their child though they are nearly the exact opposite, so hopefully with some time passing she will allow them back. After all they 1000x better than any cat or dog, but likely singled out due to the ick insect factor. Best of luck.
