hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

i have an S.carolina ooth for about 4 weeks now incubated with plenty of misting everyday and it hasnt hatched yet does this mean its infertile?

i guess i shuodl throw it out now

i cut the other ooth open and some orange gooey stuff came out

Don't throw it out. At least wait another month. Orange gooey stuff means its fertile. Those were the eggs :( . If this one is from the same mantis, it's more than likely fertile. Just be patient :)

Poor baby mantids!

Even I know that it takes ooths 4-24 weeks to hatch, depending on species.

Another no-no:

Don't cut open ooths!

sadly not from same mantid, 2 seperate females

Just keep going. I have four S. carolina ooths incubating right now, ranging from 2 weeks to 6 weeks, and still no signs, but that's fairly normal.

Four weeks? Wait another six and then start to worry.
