Just got these in! Often called the "African Chocolate millipede" due to the coloration. This specimen is more on the reddish side then the others I have. These guys are very active and often times are on the surface during the day. They don't seem to have any problem with being handled. 







These are some good sized millipedes! This male is about 7 1/2 inches long. Females are about another 1-2 inches longer.

 
That’s too bad.  I keep a few species of millipede myself.  They are interesting to watch if you can find a species that doesn’t stay buried 24-7.  Do you still keep other species?
