So I'm new to the hobby, but I plan on eventually getting this species and attempting to breed them in the future, so I figure I may as well just ask now.

I've seen mixed reviews on this species, some people saying it's easy, others saying it's absurdly hard. What makes it hard (I'm not saying I think it seems easy, just want to know so I can prevent it)?

Are there any particular strategies that are more likely to succeed?

Will taping the female's reptorial limbs damage them? I read somewhere that will stop her from hurting or eating the male, but it sounds dangerous, especially if she tries to chew through.

Which species is harder, yellow orchids or Malaysian orchids?

How do rate the yellows and Malaysians, easy, intermediate, diffult, or expert-level?

Thanks!

I'll tell you some things (not everything, but just some general facts).

They are actually intermediate, just remember to feed them at least a once or twice a week. I didn't have any fruit flies as a hatch went in and I was off guard for that.

Make sure that there are vents on the side. I got that part down with good accuracy.

Depending on the climate, it should be kept humid (thats every mantis).

Nope, I think you should be fine.

Honestly, both seem to be the same level, even though yellows are a bit more difficult to find. The other caveat is that orchids (could be inbred). So always try finding a male or a female from a different source.

Taping the females reptorial limbs?
Oh I thought you mean't like the female tapping. No, never use tape, ever! The sticky tape will easily be a death sentence for a mantis, I learned this the hard way with my first caught mantis in my yard a few years back.

Try feeding her large moths or katydids. Or (please do not do this, its more of an ethical reason) use lizards or other vertebrates.

Okay. I thought that was a little strange.

I'll do that when I try breeding them, thanks!

Do you have any other breeding tips?

Ahh, I'll tell you a bit more, basically from what I heard, have a nice amount of males. Seriously sometimes females aren't in the mood and they will go through them like candy.

@KevinsWither That's sweet! It seems like you know a lot about how to take care of them, so I'm sure she'll live a long and happy life.  :)
Knowledge doesn't replace experience though, this is my first time doing this. After a lot of research, I actually gotten the gist down, its the little things that will really take a toll. Try it first and if you fail, don't get too disappointed. I'm working on that part.
