I know Mantida was looking for some...

There seems to be a shortage of male orchid mantids in the hobby right now.

United States only (sorry)-- if anybody needs male orchid mantids, contact me through the Personal Messaging system. I'm willing to work out 50/50 breeding loans for anybody that has females more than 3 weeks mature. Males are in short supply, so please don't ruin somebody else's opportunity (and mine) if your female has not been mature for 3 weeks. Females seem more interested in food than mating, for the first month or so.

Males will be shared on the basis of your experience in raising them previously and my ability to trust that you'll be honest about your results. Don't hesitate to convince me. Males don't live very long and I'll be sending them off this coming Monday or Tuesday (Feb. 11th or 12th).

You pay for shipping to you. I pay for shipping back to me (assuming your success). Contact me for further details.

Peter

P.s. Do you see what she's eating?

That females means business. Mating with one dude while disparaging another!

By the way, I thought it was hilarious acerbity knew the name of the mantis being devoured, haha.

Peter I have two adult females who have been mature for some time. Both have been mated once a long time ago and they could stand to be mated again.

Rick, you're the first person to indicate an interest. Perhaps nobody else needs them, afterall.....??? I suppose I could just feed the extras to my females.

(I'll be in touch with you Rick after everybody gets a chance to respond. One of my males is now a proven breeder. He mated with a female of mine, yesterday. I pulled him out as they were no longer attached and she was looking a biiit hungry (since eating Roy :p the other day).

Hey Peter, one female is adult and the other is going to molt in the next 48 hours.

How old are your males? Do you think they can hold on for another 2.5 weeks?

Hi Mantida,

I'm sure they can. The oldest one molted out about 2-3 weeks ago. I'm keeping them on the chilly side.
