So I put in a few flies so the female wouldn't eat the male while I sleep. They both end up grabbing a fly at the same time. Meanwhile the male is still drumming on the females back so he doesn't become dinner too . Anyone ever experience this?

Listen, every good guy knows if you don't want your head ripped off, you have to romance the ladies first with a nice meal at a fancy restaurant. :euro:

Wow, a interesting trick to be sure. Can't say I've ever read about any male drumming before, and he was letting her have it. Let us know if he survives though. :D

Ah wining and dinning, true love is through their stomach. Lets just hope he didn't slip anything into her drink, as he wouldn't be a good guy. ;)

Very cool! What do you feed her anything special before or during the breeding process? I have a female now and I'm looking for a male

So I can try my hand at breeding.

Thanks her main diet usually consists of bluebottle flies but I try to vary her diet on occasion. After mating I would suggest loading her up with pollinating insects like moths and butterflies. Honey bees are especially good for them
