parthenogenetic?

Hi everyone,

I recently caught 2 pre-seub Kongobatha Diademata but they both appear to be female. i have heard that they are parthenogenetic but i wanted to confirm this before spending $60 on a male which may not necessarily be needed. Any help would be appreciated

I have not heard this. Either way, the nymphs will be stronger and more likely to survive if you get the male.

I've read that the Brunner's mantis (Brunneria borealis) is the only mantis species that is parthenogenetic. Also males of that species do not exist.

Not true. Miomantis sp are also capable of parthogenisis. I’ve also heard of Stagmomantis doing it. Thesprotia graminis is also 100% parthogenic.

You will only get females from parthenogenisis, just an FYI.

I have heard parthogenesis is also possible with sphodropoda sp, bolbe sp and neomantis sp.(All three Australian species)

But is it also possible with Orthodera?

No, not possible with Orthodera. Found nothing on Sphodropoda sp. Nothing on Bolbe either. Wow nothing on Neomantis either. I have heard or Neomantis being parthenogenic but nothing from searches on the topic.

even my dad

(He used to keep these 3 Species)
