Shadow - the large opaque brown spots covering her compound eyes give her a bit of a creepy appearance. We're not sure what exactly causes this phenomenon although "caging" is frequently to blame. To my absolute astonishment, I came home late this evening to find she had laid another ooth - even at this very advanced age and weakened condition. I attribute this remarkable last effort to her listening to Falcon's healing Trombone Soliloquy" The ooth was small and malformed (not surprising) but none the less, there it was. Wow.

One of the fondest memories I have with mantises was playing peekaboo with the first nymph I raised up, which happened to be a Tenodera sinensis. :wub:
