My Chaco is in pre-molt and my Brazilian black molted today

Plush is now over a year old(13+months). He just molted on 6-30-14. His molts are taking longer now. He was on his back for about 3 hours, and molting took about an hour.

Awesome shots! I've got this same species. Mine's 2" from leg to leg. About an inch from head to abdomen. I've had him/her (most are thinking "him" at this point) since March of this year. He's had 3 molts since with me. I got him when he had a 3/4" leg span. It's awesome to watch them grow. He's my first tarantula. It's true, what HungryGhost said, they're very docile. Mine has been living off crickets, maggots, and flies. It's interesting how he catches different prey items differently. For crickets, he pounces at them, but for maggots, he just hovers over them and picks them up.
