Heres the Popa spurcas sent to me by Mime. I was lucky enough for them to be a pair. I look forward to breeding and continuing this species, even if no one else is just because they're not selling well. Its important to keep a species in culture, because our sources of imports could dry up at any time, and where would we be then? Without a bunch of species because they lost popularity.

This is the crippled male griffinii that silentdevill traded me for an adult female griffin since all 6 of mine were female. He's blind, his antennae essentially don't exist, his raptorials are weak and missing a tarsil, but worst of all are his mouth parts. He has a hard time eating anything because they're sort of smushed upwards and shorter than usual. He cant bite through any shells at all, I have to give him pupae I cut in half so he can suck out the goo. He wasnt always this bad, but shortly after I got him he molted and messed up his face somehow. And now silentdevill is mating my adult female I raised from L2 with his healthy males while my females grow old and this guy refuses to molt to at least subadult. To say I'm upset would be an understatement.

Thats it for my melancholy post. I hope something turns around for the better soon.

Awww poor Griffinii. I am glad you are taking the time that it takes to take care of him. Lots of good Karma coming ;)

I learned from my old mantids Sticky and Fred that crippled/handicapped pets can be cool and special. Fred damaged his face while molting. His eyes were ruined but he was extra sweet and always a gentleman. Sticky knew how to get into your heart. He mismolted and lost a hind leg.

Enjoy your griffen. You might not find another like him ever.

I'm sorry to hear about your griffini. May the odds be ever in your favor with this guy.

As for the popas, well, I agree. They were such a plentiful breeder, I was soon overcrowded with nymphs. I stopped trying, and now they're almost gone. I still have a 6th laid ooth if anyone's looking, PM me for details. Even the 5th laid ooth hatched at least 30. Good luck keeping this sp. alive!

Poor griffini. But he couldn't be in better care.

The second Popa shot of male & female on cup: HAAAA ! They're riding motorcycles :punk:

He was missing the front end of his right raptorial and had a big bump on his left that he chewed on when I got him. didn't notice until I got home.

Really ? How was he able to eat the night when i just feed him hydie fruit fly and hunt on his own if he has a mouth problem I'm pretty sure i don't got the time to hand feed it ........ and when we did the traded was mth ago .....U did not say anything tell after the molt ... Even if u said the right front part of the Raptorial is missing at L5 they will grow back by adult shouldn't even be a problem ... No Point ..arguing with u. Just saying u sound like I give u bad Mantis purposely. A lot thing can happen after 1 molt for a Mantis ... U can have the healthiest Mantis and miss molt and died that's How it is .

I have already offered u Adult male trying to help you out, But from ur Reply it doesn't seems like you need the Help. It seems like ur Just trying to Say I give u shxx Mantis .

he didn't have the mouth problem then. Just raptorials. he was able to hunt and eat when I brought him home.

I don't think Malakyoma is accusing anyone, I think he may just be feeling down because his mantid isn't doing well. Very generous of you, SilentDevil, to offer a trade, but I think Malakyoma wants to help that Griffinii more than just getting a new male.

He had a bad molt... I didn't take any of his post as putting you down or foul play on your part SilentDevil. I think

aychen222said it right in his post.

"I think he may just be feeling down because his mantid isn't doing well."
