Praying Mantis in the Local Newspaper

So last summer I released about 60 egg cases in my garden. This summer, THIS happend....

HEU HEU HEU!!!

While the article describes warm weather the culprit behind this "invasion" but I think I'm gonna take credit for this one.

Lol Win!!! Mantises all day! They spelled ootheca wrong tho....

Not surprising really. They occur in other states with cold winters. What is surprising is that they are saying they were not found there previously. I am starting to see the spread of the non natives as not a good thing.

I would think they are already there, just now that were more populated, the human race I mean that it is easier to see them.

I grew up in Wisconsin. When I was a kid, I did seeing a praying mantis now and then, but I can't remember if it was in Wisconsin or if we were traveling... It was too long ago.
