My Giant Asian Mantis has poop stuck to the end of her abdomen, and every time I remove it, more gets stuck. There is also a small piece that hardened and I think that is what is clogging the poo. Any Ideas on how to remove the hardened piece?

You can take a moist cotton swab and try to gently remove it with that, or run it's behind under the faucet with warm water and try to get the poop soft enough for you to remove it.

try feeding ur mantis a grape.

Take the grape.. smash it open, take a toothpick and get a lil chunk on the end. You will hade to hold it in front of them, and tap there mouth gently with it. might take a few trys/minutes.

this will wet the poo on the way out.

Someone suggested using a q tip and some mineral oil to soak it, don't know if it works, but prob wont hurt to try, I don't think, Oh bother, I really dont know!

+1

I don't think feeding a mantis a grape will help this condition; and I don't advocate feeding mantids fruit in the first place.

Using a moistened q-tip has helped me in the past with removing a piece of dried ootheca and it has helped me remove pieces of shed skin that didn't want to fall off. Good luck!

Sorry to hear.
