Hi,I have two males and two females of Ghost mantis,I give them bluebottle flies ,but the last maggots don't hatch!I put its out to the fridge two weeks ago...my answer is:it's a problem for the mantis if they don't eat for two weeks? One male is adult by thrre days ago, other are all adults...Ps.i've already finished all tenebrio molitor larvae!

if the pupae gets too wet then they might not hatch. the container needs to be well ventilated.

too much humidity can hurt them.

also, maybe your temps in that room is too low at this time.

Hi there!

For some reasons they sometimes just dont hatch!

So forget about this dead maggots and get some fresh ones as soon as you can!

Your mantids may survive for 2 weeks with no food but they should enter in a "survival mode".

You have to slow their metabolism down.To do so,just lower the temperature(23°c min) give them water more often(don t drawn them!).

Plus you should add 1 or 2 hours of light because darkness consumes more energy.

It is hard to find living preys during winter but if you hunt wisely you may find small crickets or moths(in your closet!!).

I hope this will help you!
