Hi, Nikko!

I am noting the following for clarification, please correct if I am wrong on anything.

This is the horsehead grasshopper, which looks a lot like a phasmid.

The eggs are laid in "batches" not "ooths" and you can see how many you are getting,

I once got a plastic vial with moistened cotton [wool] with a dozen eggs. I understand that the number in a batch varies widely. Do you know how many eggs are in one of yr batches?

Mine died young, presumably from too low a humidity. Do you have hatching advice?

Thanks.

Hi Phil!

Yes it is the large one that looks like a phasmid.

Females are huge.up to 15 cm,sometimes a little more.

Males are half size metallic blue colored.

They can live for 18 months, fed on bramble .High Humidity level although they can tolerate dryier conditions.27°C to 30°C but room temp is fine.

They do not really mismolt but sometimes can fall down while molting due to their weight and size.I have 90% survival rate easy.

Yes the ooths are rather batches and you can count the eggs.

I believe mine should carry at least 20 to 40 nymphs.

To incubate the eggs keep them always moist.70% to 80% at room temperature

I will post better pictures

Interesting.

I use a LOT of fruitflies.I mean it is crazy!!So I may be interested. What species is that?I am looking for M. domestica,Caliphora(the small green one) and the big blue one(bluebottle?I forgot the exact name.)

I would also gladly accept moths of all kind....

The main concern would be shipping.

I would need at least 2 pounds :p

There is M. domestica...Calliphora vomitoria (bluebottle) and Phaenicia sericata(green fly) we could setup and harvest for you. I'll check postage rates for a starter culture and get back to you :)
