Pseudoharpax virescens

Hello all,

someone near me is offering some L6 Pseudoharpax virescens Nymphs and I'm pretty interested in them.

I can't really find any info about them on the net though, so I will ask here:

-Can they live together or are they very cannibalistic?

-Do they require any special treatment? (like very high temperature)

-What should I feed them? Will crickets be good enough (and some moths every now and then)?

-How big can they get?

The level of cannibalism is about the same as any flower mantis, if you keep them together expect to lose one or two now and then. Plenty of food and space certainly help in reducing that risk. I have witnessed cannibalism when food source is limited, but when food is available i have never seen any.

Not very high temp. i kept them around 80-85F and they bred alright.

I fed them mainly flying insects, and few crix occassionally.

-How big can they get?

Not very big, slightly above an inch

Hi,

This species of mantis relatively easy to keep and breed. Being less sensitive to temperature and humidity than many other mantids. 27-29C (80-85F)

During the night to 24 (75F).

When hatched out they have sharp eyes even at L1.
