Ravenous mantid!

Lol, so crowbar is absolutely voracious today! I didn't feed him yesterday, and when I added in fruit flies this morning, he had a field day. He grabbed a FF right off the bat, then while he was still eating that one, another wandered too close, so he snatched that one up too, so now he has one in each claw. Then about 5 minutes later, when he was done (didn't see if he ate them completely or just munched on parts of them) I saw him grab another FF. Then 30 min later, I saw him grab yet another! He must be trying to bulk up with all the protein he's loading up on

Oops, more people might answer my question if I actually POST my question, lol... is it normal for mantids to binge like this?

Yes, mantids will eat until they can't eat any more.

Not binging, Chris. It's mantis-ing. And completely normal and a healthy sign.

Fun times are when a greedy mantis has one hanging in its mandibles and another in each claw. Some get too greedy though and end up dropping one meal while going after another.
