agrred with tonyc. i have held back also on comments. we know your situation because you post it in every topic. we are here to help with advice if needed.

If I ship with a cold pack, they will be fine with say, priority shipping. I.e. I ship on Monday, they will arrive on Wednesday. That's why I'm giving a live arrival guarantee. ^_^ I just sold somebody 10 of them for $45, shipping and handling included. . . . ;)
Take it from someone who has shipped tens of thousands of mantids, feeder insects, arachnids as well as reptiles and dartfrogs in the last 15 yrs what you think is acceptable packing is not. What you think is going the extra mile is not, Cold packs, Heat packs, Insulated boxes proper packing is expected and it shows a respect for what your shipping and based on where you are a cold pack in 90 degree weather is like dropping an ice cube in the desert to keep it cool. Faster shipping will play the best role in the heat this yr, and just be happy you were forced into this hobby and not dart frogs or something where we use 4-6 phase 22 panels to ship with that can go for $6 each then tack on an $80 overnight fedex shipping cost. Your lucky those manids are a more durable species because when it comes down to DOA's and they do happen I see you making a fuss about a refund, or replacments. Its not about how many, or how much its about the mantids.

Your views on shipping prices are also laughable, but what makes me wonder is if your trying to buy more mantids you seem to know what others are charging for mantids and shipping. You shouldn't be shopping for more right now that is for sure.

As for 10 nymphs for $45 shipped, I have to say is not what you would consider a great deal. Your focus on what other sites sell for is a bad idea, and to be honest you remind me of someone who tries to advance off others charity, If your as bad off as you say you need to seek help and change your priorities because your headed down the wrong path buying feeders, supplies and other items if your hurting for a meal. I see your interests, they are kind of on the high end if I had a Harley, Guns, Computer, you name it and couldn't feed myself that stuff would be sold, my internet cut off and I wouldn't think twice about it sometimes you have to just take the long road and suffer through like the masses. Good luck.

We aren't trying to shun your or pick on you. I think we all can appreciate those afflicted with disability and many of us are on tight budgets, too. I think what we or at least I am asking, is for you to tone it down and accept advice gracefully from people trying to help, rather than respond with rudeness. Iam fairly new here. My first hatch was a native and I tried to sell them for 3 a pop not realizing that was ridiculous. Instead of complaining that no one was buying, I asked around to see why. I was told the price was too high for that species and they gave me advice which was to release some, save some, lower the price and use them for trades and freebies to get some soecies I want. It also allows you to "practice shipping" without having loads of angry people pissed that their mantid died in a hot box. Remember that USPS is tempermental so the utmost care in packing is needed in case that box is accidently routed to Hawaii or Alaska and yes, that has happened. Try that route, use them for trades and practice and such. People will give you feedback and then trust you when you are selling non natives.

Ladygigi,

Please ignore most of these folks. I haven't read many of your other threads on this forum, though it seems most of the people here are bringing baggage from other threads into this one. You are welcome to sell your mantises for any price you like. You are welcome to share your personal situation with us too. Everybody gets to reflect whatever they want of themselves on this forum. I'm seeing a lot of reflections in this thread, in fact. I'm not sure why all of these people are taking the opportunity to come down on you for doing what you are enjoying. Everybody that comes into this hobby is entitled to learn whether it is a good investment on their own, the easy way or the hard way. I didn't read at any point during this thread that you were soliciting advice from other people. And you deserve to defend yourself. Sure, many of their points are accurate with respect to the big picture because they have all been down the road you are just starting out on. They know what they are talking about, but some of them are just expressing it in rude and barely helpful ways. They see that lowering your prices would make you more money than keeping them high would, in the long run. But then you addressed that by saying that you would offer deals. It might be best if everybody just moves on from this thread because everybody that has posted has probably said what they needed to say (and more).
