RIP Azrael

Azrael was a beloved MM Orchid Mantis, Hymenopus Coronatus he was found dying, possibly dead on the floor having fallen likely due to old age, and noticing he was in a death curl, (insect curls up limbs and goes stiff) I made sure that if he was in fact still alive, he would go quickly. I gave his body to Aragog (one of my poecilotheria regalis slings), so he wouldn't suffer. I got him around September, and he was my only Orchid to make it to adulthood. In this time, he had grown up with 3 other mantids, eaten a few WC ones, and traveled across the country. He was my favorite out of all my mantids, and may he rest in peace.

I can relate. It's always sad when that one mantis that you hold close to your heart meets its end.

Sorry for your loss... I think that is the hardest part of this hobby... they don't live long.. but it sounds like you both enjoyed his life!
