For the last couple weeks he has been looking sluggish ... I have let him roam the bathroom since he would work his way to the window and just stare out. The only way I could get him to take food, every 3 or 4 days was to smash the crickets head and keep pushing it at him as he batted it away until i managed to get it into his mouth, then he would sometimes take it.
I wanted to seperate the ooth from mama mantis, so put her on the small tree i made for them. Daddy was at the top, momma below. I figured he would .. A) head for the window again ... B ) try to make a move for mama mantis ... C) become her lunch ... well when I went back up he was lunch ... she at everything except the wings and the legs ... mama was hungry ...
I believe he was near the end of his life and this was a way to make one last contribution to his offspring.
