Scared to eat?

I tried feeding my mantis and she doesn't want to eat unless I put it up to her face, and that only happens on rare occasions. When I drop it near her, she just strikes at it, but that's it. Other times she runs away. What should I do?

What i do is i wait a little while and then throw in one food item at a time. Maybe try flies because they can't harm the mantis

is it getting ready to molt, mine do that when it is near molt time or if the prey is too big

She's either not hungry or getting ready to molt. Wait a few days and try again.

Wait, do they eat at all when they molt? Because she does eat, only when I connect the mealworm to her mouth. And I behead the worm and give her the gooey parts.

My idolo freaked out and started threat posing flies before he molted.

How long has she been not eating? What instar is she? Does she seem to be moving less?

If she strikes at it but doesn't catch it then sheis trying to swat food away.

She ate yesterday, and took a bite I held up to her. She hangs upside down all day, so I'm not sure.
