Sealants safe for mantids/bugs?

So I need to seal in a false bottom to a container I'm working on and I'm wondering if there's any sealants you guys know of that are waterproof and safe for mantises? Or just plants in general since I want to make it a workable and s a f e vivarium before I touch the mantis part. I've seen people use a silicone sealant but I didn't know if this was possibly toxic to mantises.

hot glue
silicone is toxic when wet but generally harmless once dry, but it releases NASTY fumes

Hot glue does the trick.

The clear silicone is ok as long as you give it a few days to cure and dry, the smell will go away in a few days.
