B. mendica maybe L7 female

O. gracilis? adult female

C. apicalis adult female

I don't know anything about USA moths so that's the best I can do.

Yay! Monarchs! the monarchs must have begun their migration to California!!! Cant wait! Last year I had 50 something monarch caterpillars with only on 1 milkweed. Now I have 4 milkweeds and I am so excited. I will make a post later in the year of my butterfly garden.

The red admirals arent here yet. But I have noticed a lot of Mourning Cloaks... They love basking in the sun in my butterfly garden. I have seen many anise swallowtails drinking from my Buddleighia (I think thats how you spell it) I am hoping they will lay eggs on my dill. When the red admirals come I sure hope they lay on my thistle. do you have Gulf Fritillaries over there? They are year round butterflies here and lay on my passionfruit vine. I have SO many!

there r tons of red admirals here

my idolo wont eat them but the blephs sure as heck will

i am interested in golf fritilaries later this season

did u determine whether or not mantises r able to eat them???

Yes they can eat the adults but I wouldnt feed the caterpillars to them. I will also have monarchs this July/August/October (3 broods before they migrate back) the cats definetly can not be fed! They adults you can try to feed

Did I win the 20 Luna moth eggs? Is that an L8 bleph?

That bleph is an L7.

i actually think the bleph is subadult

and hertarem, u r getting luna eggs from me anywayz

no need to worry ;)
I don't think so Alex. Mine are all L6 by the looks of it. I think Tammy sold us some that were an instar behind what we thought they were.

Ya! Just thought I would try. Lol.

Gripen for future disagreements never say "That is a ____" say "I think that is"

Esspecially if you are not sure of what instar it is

Gripen, I didn't double check my order spreadsheet, but I don't remember actually selling any to you.I kept detailed documentation on my b mendica mating, ooths, hatching, etc. I shipped mostly L2s. But Alex wanted L3s and that's definitely what I sent him. The first two ooths hatched on 11/29 and 12/2. I gave away the next ooth to a friend. So, I didn't have another hatch until 12/18. Alex wanted his shipped on his Christmas break. I shipped his order on December 28. They were definitely L3s by then. I have new L1s now, and these guys are pretty tiny.

I'm surprised that Alex and a few others don't have adults by now. I shipped some from the first or second ooth to another forum member and kept 6 - 7 for myself for breeding stock. We both have adults and babies now.
