wonder how hard it would be to put together a poll for species in culture. leave it open for a few weeks so everyone can vote on what they are keeping then have a poll results, this will not have the users names but only species for everyone to see what is actually in culture in the US and Canada. I saw this on another site and it was very interesting from year to year how the species change and how some stay the same. This will also show what we are low in and close to losing culture of in the US.

If interested i will along with the help of maybe some vollunteers to go through the IMG list split it up and create a poll.

We can do this yearly and i think it will be of some benefit?

Any ideas where to start?

or what is your input?

i would run this by Peter. I have a feeling it's a no no though.

ok i wont this was just an idea if it was approved my admins only. Not trying to cause any trouble.

Maybe something to do with broadcasting exactly what exotic mantids are being kept in the states? Just a wild guess. Sort of how the rules in the phasmid forum are (or were, I haven't checked) in terms of discussing the possession of exotic phasmids in the states. With mantids there isn't a strict ban against having them in the US, but maybe listing all the species being raised here might bring unwanted attention?

Idk, I'm just throwing out a possibility, I may wrong so if I am, ignore me.
