stable fly vs house fly

What is the size difference in stable flies and house flies? are stable flies smaller by a little or lot?

I have some Carolina nymphs, L3 (about 15mm long) and L4 (20mm long) and need something to feed them.

Would either work?

Anyone have any experience with stable flies? I have never gotten them before but might because they seem smaller then house flies?

I had false stable flies before and they did not live as long as house flies. Yes they are just a bit smaller than house flies but will get out of a zoo med glass terrarium due to door window gap. Real stable flies are not to be used at all. I also tried curtly flies which are flightless house files and they jump quite a bit and no easier to handle than normal house flies.

Hmm well I might just go with house flies then. I need them to be in pupa stage as food for while I am away.
