Is it unusual for them to have asymetrical markings like her's?

 
Maybe I'm missing something really important here, but why is everyone so enthralled with Stagmos? I mean, they're cool, but they're standard mantis cool. not anything way crazy as far as I see. Could someone fill me in?
Even if this topic is about the stunning Stagmatoptera. I feel the urge to fill you in about the lovely Stagmomantis.

I actually enjoy the classic mantis shapes. To me they are all very beautiful.

If you mean the Stagmomantis genus, I appreciate all the different color morphs that they have the potential to be, the abbreviated wings on the females, and the fact they are true american natives that I can enjoy outdoors.

Rearing and breeding Stagmomantis carolina has been, and will continue to be a rewarding experience for me. :D
