Species treatment for Stagmomantis floridensis Davis, 1919 finalized.
This species is double-brooded with overlapping generations during most of the year when both adults and nymphs co-occur. Adult females are found most often among low vegetation and flowering weeds within Floridian swampy areas and forest clearings from late June to early November, whereas males are typically found from mid-September to early October. Cannibalism during mating is not indicated. This species is infrequently encountered despite its large size and seemingly equal population numbers with Stagmomantis carolina in Florida.
