After i got him off me he started doing this, what exactly is he doing?
He's giving you a Special Message that applies only to you and me as the only two members of this forum who admit to being over 70. It goes like this:

"Hit me at 30 and there's a 70% chance I'll live, hit me at 40 and I`ll probably die. Hit me at 70+ and I'll bite the furking tire right off your vehicle." Very aggressive, some of these mantids and mantis keepers! :D

I see nothing wrong. Had mantids do that before.

K, if it is normal what exactly is it doing and why?
Maybe it's in pain.. many animals are more agressive then.

Or it goes berserk because i wants more food.

I've seen the spazzing before . happens wehen i detatch mine from my finger aswell..

I have noticed mantids do this when they want to get rid of dirt and other animals on they're back.

They mostly pull they're arm every way they can...

Not sure if this is the same though, it's just something i've noticed with my mantids!

I was baking next to a radiator and combined with the worry of hurting him i was sweating loads, so i guess thats what he was trying to do then
