So I overfed my Giant Asian once and I decided to let him not eat for a couple of days, but he never got skinnier. Even after molting his abdomen is still huge. Why is it so big and what can I do? Is it possibly a parasite?

It's probably fine, it's when a mantis has a skinny abdomen that won't fatten that I'd be worried, but I've had mantids go weeks without needing food because they are so fat.

My guess is your he is actually a she. Females are naturally bigger and they put on even more weight as they build up in preparation to lay oothecae (something they do regardless of if they have been bred).

I agree that it is a good possibility, although he never said what instar his mantis is.
