Sub Adult?

I just noticed my shield has what looks to be wing buds, not sure. Does she look like a sub adult? 

Also, when measuring the length of mantids (for proper container size), is it measured from head to anus?

I was walking home and reading this. When I was walking it looked pre sub but I just got home and took a look at it now sitting down. 

Im not sure if it’s actually pre sub 

Yup it’s presub -> subadult -> adult

Oh cool! So the stages are Nymph -> Presub -> Subadult -> Adult .... Now I just need to learn how to tell the difference

Well presubs and subs are still considered nymphs but yeah that’s the basic idea

Yes, measure the mantis head to end (anus). Definitely getting in pretty wing pads there! Like everyone said should be at presub.

Is presub just one molt from subadult?

I also have another mantis (jeweled flower) who is super tiny, but appears to have mini wings when I took photos yesterday.
