A day ago all the oatmeal in my superworm container turned whitish greenish and appear to be moldy.  What could have happened? are the superworms in danger? Do I need to move them to a new container?

What is the best medium to keep them in?

I would change the bedding asap. I've been raising mealworms for a couple years now and this happened once when I went on vacation and I put too much vegetables in. Try putting a small amount of whatever vegetable you feed them. For medium I've always used quick oats and would sometimes add cereal, never had any problems.
