This is my boy who just molted to adult! He got soo much bigger overnight. I think he's magically doubled in size. He looks freakin' awesome.

Nice still fresh and yellow just wait till he is a few days old and turns green you'll love him even more :) Enjoy???

Nice pics Meagan! That's a good lookin' mantis, I dig his appearance a lot, especially his antennae. I hope you post more pics once a week or two have passed and his adult colors settle.

wow he is beautiful. like china / porcelain. Congrats on a perfect set of wings; i think they contribute to his larger appearance : )

So awesome! Don't u love the illusion of how they get huge during the final molt? Curling the abdomen behind them makes them look so tiny! Nice bleph! I hope to get some soon :) he really is an awesome mantis :)

congrats! you have to update you signature now; owner of ADULT b. mendica!!

Nice pics! The only bad thing is if there from the same ooth the females are like 2 years behind in molts, lol.

It sounds like someone may come through for me now actually, so hopefully he sticks around a while for some luv (I've heard the males sometimes don't live long). He's still turning green (more pics to come).

...(I've heard the males sometimes don't live long)...
Well, they don't live very long compared to females. I had an adult male Chinese live for quite a while. He died in October and I caught him as a Pre-sub in July. My adult female is still going with three fertile ooths though! :D

mayb you could try feeding him less? Given that females take longer intervals between oothecae if they are given less food, doing so also seems to extend the duration of their biological worth.

Anyone can confirm if it works with males? I'm not experienced enough to be sure :)

Congratulations on your male!

My last surviving male b. Mendica has been an adult for 12 weeks now. (The first one died around 2 months as an adult. The second one finally got his head bit off by one of the females. He was 10 weeks old at the time. He had been living with females for at least 6 weeks prior to that.)
