I'd be curious to learn the mantid's name, too.
But you were probably asking about the species, in which case the answer would probably be Blepharopsis mendica.

Heheh Yes, it's an adult male Blepharopsis mendica- my first mantis. His name is Zorak. I got a guy workin' on finding him a lady.
