Hi guys! As I'm new here I figured I would share with you some other members of my terrarium collection. The ones that belong in this category are my two tarantulas. The older one (top picture) is a Mexican fire-leg or Brachypelma Boehmei who's name is October because he's black and orange and he's a spider which brings to mind images of halloween. I actually had another tiny spiderling before him who was also a b. boehmei and either got out or died who I did name Halloween. R.I.P. Lesson learned. In any case I've had October since late June or Early July of 2015 and when I got him he had about a 3 inch leg-span and after several molts since he's considerably larger. Almost hand sized. He's friendly but skittish and a hair kicker so not always the easiest to handle. My other tarantula (bottom picture) is a close relative. He's a Mexican red-knee or brachypelma smithi. His name is Habanero because I thought it was fitting since his species is from Mexico and he has a lot of orange on him which brings to mind an orange chili pepper. I got him in June 2016 and he was about the same size October was when I got him and even though he's molted two or three times and is noticeably bigger now, he's still quite a bit smaller than his brother. He'll catch up eventually. He's the more tolerant and calm of the two so he can be a little bit easier to handle. October has long since been moved to the big habitat he's in in the picture and Habanero is living in the old critter keeper his brother once lived in. Sooner or later I'll have to get the same setup for him.

I love your setup.

What tank is that? I'm not up to having large Ts but I'm fascinated by them. I'm getting my foot in the door by looking for a Pumpkin Patch T (small) at some point.

Speaking of dwarf Tarantulas, are there any that could thrive in a setup like that or are they all webby-webby?

Thanks TrentMT! I don't remember exactly which tank it is off the top of my head but it's actually part of a series of tanks either made by or with the help of National geographic and what's really great about them I learned is that part of the price you spend on them goes to help conserve wild reptiles and other creatures. They are super convenient too! They come with a little key and open from the front so there's no need to remove the lid. I have a much, much larger 50 gallon version for my 3 1/2 year old bearded dragon.

Unfortunately the only experience I have are with these two species so far and don't know too much about dwarf species but I do love the pumpkin patch tarantula and I almost got one once. I did do some research and apparently they spend a lot of time in small burros they dig so considering their size they probably don't need a very big habitat at all. I can however share a link to a tarantula forum I'm a member of. Lots of great people that can answer any questions you might have about just about any species  :)
