Last June I hatched and released all but 3 of 70+ nymphs. Of course, the 3 I kept turned out to be all females, lol. I looked all summer, but could not find my released mantids. I saw one molting in July, but never saw him again. I made the decision to put my 3 adult females out back in the grasses last week to try and attract some males. Today I found my female mating, with what I think is spermophore? next to her!!! I brought the couple in and they are still mating. To make the release even better, I also found another male, and a female who wasn't even gravid yet now I can mate them too. It is amazing how well the mantids can hide. They were basically where they were released originally, and I couldn't find them until now.
