Hi, I finally captured a scene of an ooth hatching.

This is the link to the video:

And here is a glimpse:

You can see some larvaes are hanging from their first shed.

Interesting colour do the nymphs have after hatching, they dearken almost immediately to black.

 
Very nice .. clear video .. good job catching it .... did you keep it in your lap at all times to be certain to catch it, or was it just a lucky day ?

 
Lucky ^^ I knew it would hatch around today but I didn't expect it to hatch in a midday, normally ooths hatch at mornings but this speciec appears to hatch later...

Anyway I didn't make it to record the whole scene, I was a bit late :)

The title says "The very first shedding", so would these be considered L1 or L2 :mellow: ? congratuations BTW. :)

 
Congrats Ben, I wish the species becomes popular, it gives me much pleasure and fun :)

The mantids in fact shed for L1, it is a kind of a "0" molt :)
